In recent developments, IAF helicopters have reportedly rescued three people stranded in the flooded Latur village.

This comes amidst the heavy rainfall across Maharashtra. According to reports, this comes a day after heavy water discharge from the Manjara dam caused flooding in some places of Maharashtra's Marathwada region. The team rescued three people stranded at an inundated village in Latur with the help of a helicopter.

Since Marathwada has been experiencing heavy rainfall over the last few days, the NDRF was mobilised. Moreover, helicopters were deployed to rescue people stuck in some of the flooded places in the region.

On the other hand, on Tuesday, September 28, amidst the Cyclone Gulab that weakening into a well-marked low-pressure area over western Vidarbha and its neighbourhood, heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy showers is very likely at isolated places in north Madhya Maharashtra and north Konkan on Wednesday, September 29.

In addition, according to reports, on Wednesday, a heavy downpour is also likely at isolated places over Marathwada. Moreover, as per the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) district forecast and warning, Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Beed, Parbhani, Osmanabad, Latur, Nanded and Hingoli are under yellow alert.
