The world has witnessed a lot of deaths for more than a year due to the deadly coronavirus and according to the analytical survey, half of the COVID-19 deaths have occurred in less than a week in the state since the beginning of the pandemic while 30 per cent of deaths have happened within three days of admission.

There has been a rise in the number of cases of COVID-19 and the third wave is likely to hit the state by October.

The situation is similar to that of the first and second wave of coronavirus wherein according to the statistics 31.5 per cent of deaths took place in the course of the first three days of hospitalization, during the first wave, and in the following, four to six days the death per cent was 22.4. During the second wave, the death per cent was 30.4% till the third day and between 3-6 days the death per cent was 23.7%.

The statistics are worrisome and the reason why the death per cent was on a high is that there was a delay in reaching the hospital. Another reason stated by few medical professionals to the media was there was also a delay in seeking care by the patients.

However, according to the experts rise in death per cent can be prevented during the possible third wave if the patients are diagnosed early on and also hospitalized on time.
