Mumbai Metro 2A and Metro 7 routes to be operational by May 2021

The metro journey on both these routes will be driverless. However, initially, the metro will be run and inspected by a driver. The driverless metro plan will then be implemented once the state-of-the-art system is running smoothly.

The much-awaited metro rail journey for Mumbaikars will soon be a reality, as the state government is ready to inaugurate the Metro 2A and Metro 7 routes by the end of May 2021. As per reports, the metro coaches which will be used on these routes were expected to arrive in Mumbai in the night on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

As planned, the Metro 7 line will connect Dahisar and Andheri, whereas Metro 2A lines will connect Dahisar and DN Nagar stations. Work on both the lanes has been completed and now the trial run for the same is being planned. It is said that the same will be held on this lane and is being scheduled in February 2021, for both the routes.

A total of 576 coaches are expected to arrive in Mumbai in multiple phases.

Besides this, the metro journey on both these routes will be driverless. However, initially, the metro will be run and inspected by a driver. The driverless metro plan will then be implemented once the state-of-the-art system is running smoothly. Officials state that the metro train coaches will arrive from Bangalore will arrive on Wednesday post which the department will begin planning the trial runs.
