NASA's annual Human Exploration Rover Challenge at US Space and Rocket Centre in Huntsville witnessed three Indian student teams from Mumbai, Punjab and Ghaziabad, who also bagged awards.

'Frank Joe Sexton Memorial Pit Crew Award' and 'System Safety Challenge Award' were won by Mumbai's Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering. Lovely Professional University from Punjab was honoured with the 'STEM Engagement Award'.

Whereas, the team from KIET group of Institution hailing from Ghaziabad won the 'Neil Armstrong Best Design Award'.

As stated in Times of India, nearly 100 teams from around the globe participated in the competition that challenges high school and college teams to design, build and test human-powered roving vehicles inspired by the Apollo lunar missions and future exploration missions to the Moon, Mars and beyond. It concluded with the teams interacting and participating in activities along with The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) astronaut Sunita Williams.
