Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar hospitalised

As per reports, Kishori Pednekar was admitted at Mumbai' Saifee Hospital on Monday, June 29, owing to kidney stone infection. She has been suffering the pain for a few days now.

On June 29, 2020, Mayor of Mumbai, Kishori Pednekar was admitted at Saifee Hospital after she complained of weakness and pain. She was admitted in the afternoon on Monday and reports state that she has been suffering the pain for the last few days. 

BMC official confirmed the same stating that the pain was due to kidney stone infection and the doctors suggested her to get admitted for treatment. The official further confirmed that the admission was not related to Coronavirus. 

Pednekar and her team the BMC have been working hard to contain the spread of Coronavirus and she has been active regarding the same on her social media accounts. A former nurse, Pendekar also donned her uniform as a nurse while visiting Mumbai's Nair Hospital recently.

As of June 29, 2020, Mumbai has more than 75,000 COVID-19 cases, owing to which, selected areas are under a complete lockdown.

Besides this, the Government of Maharashtra, on Monday, announced an extension of lockdown until July 31, 2020. Due to an exponential increase in COVID-19 cases, more than 33 areas in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) will be observing a complete lockdown for the next few weeks.
