The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) decided to conduct COVID-19 vaccination drive at only 62 centres on Wednesday, August 25, due to the shortage of vials.

All the centres will be operational from 9 am to 5 pm for beneficiaries over 18 years of age.

On Wednesday, August 25, only 42 centres, which are mentioned in the list by the civic body, in Mumbai will be administering Covishield jabs.

Those students and professionals travelling abroad for higher studies or job can get the vaccine at Kasturba Hospital, KEM Hospital, Sion Hospital, Cooper Hospital, and Dahisar Jumbo centre.

The civic body has also arranged special inoculation sessions for pregnant women. They can get jabbed at JJ Hospital, Dr Babasaheb Memorial GH, KEM Hospital, Sion Hospital, Mumbai port trust, Cooper Hospital, MW Desai hospital, ESIS hospital, BDBA hospital, Maasaheb Meenatai Thackeray maternity home, RCF, and Deonar maternity home.

The civic body has released a list of 20 centres that would be administering both the doses of Covaxin. While 50 per cent of the doses have been allocated for first dose candidates, the remaining 50 per cent are for citizens due for their second dose.

Beneficiaries have been asked to carry the certificate of their first dose of Covaxin at the time of getting their second shot.

Healthcare workers and frontline workers can get their second shot at any of the centres, while citizens over 18 years can get either of their doses at the centres mentioned in the list. Meanwhile, no drive-in vaccination facility for the 45+ age group will be functional in the city today.
