'Aggabai Sasubai' actress Nivedita Saraf tests positive for coronavirus

As per reports, she experienced mild symptoms, following which she got herself tested, and the results turned out to be COVID19 positive. Nivedita Saraf is currently under home quarantine as per protocol. Other actors of the show have tested negative.

Maharashtra government, in a statement issued in August 2020, allowed the TV and film shoot to resume in the state, with strict guidelines. The decision was passed as the industry suffered a huge loss due to the coronavirus lockdown. However, post the permission, several actors have been infected with the virus.

Update as of September 23, 2020 stated that popular Marathi actress Nivedita Saraf, who plays the lead role in a Zee Marathi's TV show 'Aggabai Sasubai' has tested positive for coronavirus. She is said to have mild symptoms and is under home quarantine, as per protocol. However, other cast members of the show have tested negative.

Sharing the information regarding Saraf's heath, he production has confirmed that the team hasn't been shooting since September 15. Furthermore, she has been asked to her quarantine period and will resume shoot after she recovers from the infection. Her husband Ashok Saraf has tested negative.

Reports state that the crew was filming the show with care. However, cases from film and TV show sets have seen an increase over the last few days.

Recently, around 27 members from the sets of Sony Marathi TV show 'Aai Mazi Kalubai' tested positive for COVID19, and unfortunately veteran actress Ashalta Wabgaonkar, who played an important role in the same series, passed away due the infection. After testing positive for coronavirus, she was admitted at a Wai-based hospital, where she breathed her last on September 22 during the treatment. Her condition was said to be critical over the last few days.

Observing the increase, leaders from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have asked the production houses and the respective firms to follow the COVID19 guidelines strictly. The state government had also said that strict action will be taken if the rules are flouted and the guidelines aren't followed.
