Maharashtra government is set to launch 'Mission Kavach Kundal' from Friday, October 8 till Thursday, 14th Oct. Rajesh Tope, Maharashtra Health Minister, on Thursday, October 7, announced that under this mission, a massive vaccination drive would take place. He stated that under this mission, the state government is aiming at vaccinating 15 lakhs people every day. 

Rajesh Tope, while addressing the media, said even though the process of lifting COVID-19 restrictions is taking place in a phase-wise manner, there is still a risk of COVID-19 third wave. According to the experts, the citizens must get vaccinated, he added.

He further said that till Dusshera, the central government is aiming at giving 100 crore doses of vaccine across the country. Meanwhile, the state government has announced a 'Mission Kavach Kundal' scheme.

Mansukh Mandviya, the Union Health Minister, while speaking to Rajesh Tope, expressed that the state should help in achieving the target of administering 100 crore doses of vaccine across the country.

A few days back, even the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated that one can not completely rule out a surge in COVID-19 cases in the coming months since the city will witness a lot of festivals coming, which will include gatherings.
