In another Mumbai local train’s fatal incident, a 22-year-old youth died after falling from a running locomotive on Wednesday morning, March 23.

This accident took place between Goregaon and Malad station due to a rush on the train. An accidental death has been reported. Moreover, a case has been registered and further investigation is underway, said Borivali GRP.

However, the identity of the deceased, who was travelling towards Churchgate, is yet to be revealed. 

However, the passengers immediately stopped the train and tried to save the youth; however, he died on the spot.

With the city fully opening up, the local trains have started witnessing huge crowd that of pre-COVID-19 era especially during peak hours.

However, unfortunately, a number of people lose their lives during this journey, and it is learned that the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 reduced the number of accidents. This was due less crowd in trains because of the work from home owing to the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

Moreover, earlier, there were restrictions on those travelling in the local trains. Though, in August 2021, the state government allowed the fully vaccinated to commute by the trains, which is Mumbai's lifeline.

Now, the feud is growing between the Bombay High Court (HC) and Maharashtra government to commute those non-vaccinated in the locals.
